Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some questions that we are frequently asked.

How are your orders delivered?

All orders are shipped via RoyalMail and generally take 2-3 days to arrive.

We ship out orders on the same working day if received before 2pm. Plant orders are dispatched Monday through Wednesday only so that there is less risk that they will be in the box longer over the weekend.

How much do you charge for delivery?

We currently charge a flat rate of £3.95 for all orders under £25.00. Orders over this are sent out for free.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you protect plants when you ship them?

We use padding beans made from cornstarch which are biodegradable. They can be thrown out in your normal waste or chucked in your compost bin.

What plant feed do you use?

We only use natural nutrients when feeding our plants, such as Kelp which is an abundant seaweed packed full of nitrogen and phosphorous.

What pesticides do you use?

We do not use any harmful chemicals at all. Impatiens are fairly susceptable to attracting pests and so using pure neem oil in an emulsified water mixture will provide an effective and safe spray solution.

Neem oil is particularly effective against soft-bodied insects such as aphids, thrips, spider mites, mealybugs, scale, and white flies.

We advise making your own mixture from 100% pure oil when using neem oil as some concentrated pre-mixes have been found to contain synthetic, non-organic pesticides like Malathion, Chlorpyrifos and Permethrin! Neem oil can cause us and animals harm if exposed to high levels of undiluted pure neem oil, so always take care when handling your pure neem. Once you have made your mixture as explained below, you will have a solution which is safe to use that is harmless to beneficial insects, as long as they are not directly sprayed with neem.

Oil and water do not mix and so you will need to emulsify your mixture. Head on over to our article which is dedicated to using neem oil in this way:
