WHAT'S TO LOVE

KEY FEATURES

ICONIC FLOWERS

This tropical impatiens sports the iconic red & yellow parrot shaped flowers that gives it it's name, The Congo Cockatoo. Under the right conditions you will see new flower growth all year round.

SEMI-DORMANT IN WINTER

These plants can become semi-dormant in cooler months. This just means you may not see any new growth, other than perhaps the odd flower. They require less water if they slow down during winter, but this doesn't always happen. Every home is different.

A Thirsty Plant

Impatiens like a drink. Keep soil moist as much of the time as possible. If you are not watering enough, they will readily let you know and droop their leaves. Little & often is always best.

EASY TO CARE FOR

These stunning Impatiens plants are easy to care for and quite forgiving to placement, but would do best receiving south or westerly light.

Characteristics: Evergreen perennial.

Hardiness: H1B - will not tolerate low temperatures below 10-15℃. Is best suited as an indoor plant here in the UK.

Position: Partial shade, south or west facing.

Soil Type: Will be happy planted in any good potting soil.

Watering: Keep moist in well drained soil. Will droop it's leaves readily if soil dries out.

Pests & Diseases: Not susceptible to disease but can attract small pest insects. Use a neem oil spray (home made) - see our article here on how to make your own: Using neem oil safely as a natural pest spray.

Top Tip: These plants can sometimes get quite leggy. You can safely cut your plant down to the base of the stems and it will grow back happily. Pinch off growth above flowering nodes to encourage bushing growth.
